Floriade 2012

FLORIADE 2012 - Holland's once a decade Floriade - is the Flower Show to end all Flower Shows. Floriade 2012 will take place next year at Venlo in the Netherlands. It will be the sixth such Floriade, and the first to be held in Venlo.

More correctly known as the World Horticultural Expo, Floriade 2012 will be staged on a 66 hectare site. The theme in 2012 will be Living Nature. It will be divided into five themed areas: Environment, Green Engine, Relax & Heal, Education & Innovation, and World Show Stage.

Visitors can stroll between Floriade's five themed areas or ride the chairlift!

The Great Trains of Europe “Blossoms and Bulbs” Springtime Gardens Tour, commencing in Amsterdam on May 6th, 2012, will spend a full day at Floriade, as well a full day enjoying the bulbs at Keukenhof and another full day at the historic palace garden of Het Loo.

The tour then moves on from Holland to Paris for visits to Villandry and Monet's Giverney. Crossing the Channel via Eurostar the tour then spends 9 days in the historic gardens and beautiful villages of England's Lake District, Cotswolds and Yorkshire Moors and Dales. Three days in London including the Chelsea Flower Show round out the tour.

As on all Great Trains of Europe Tours, this tour features all stops 3 nights minimum, quality central hotels, full luggage handling between hotels, all garden entrances and guide fees, full sightseeing and many meals.
